ROCK POINT

Nursery – Pre-K

Our commitment in Nursery – Pre-K is to create a safe, enriching environment where the seeds of faith can be planted in the heart of your child at a very young age.

Our classrooms will be available to welcome your child 20 minutes prior to the beginning of service. Let us assure you that your child will be in a safe and nurturing environment. Our team is trained to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of your child.

Each child is greeted by their classroom leader. Children participate with their small group in an activity meant to introduce the day’s Bible story.

Shortly after arriving, the children transition to their large group environment where they hear the Bible story and engage in expressive worship. Kids are invited to sing and dance and tell God how much they love Him.

After participating in worship, the children transition back to their classroom where their leaders help them understand the Bible story. The service is concluded with a snack and group activity or craft.

ALLERGY AWARENESS | SNACK POLICY

To ensure that our classrooms are safe and to care for children with allergies or special dietary needs, we provide a gluten-free, dairy free, nut free snack. No outside food is allowed.

IF WE NEED TO CONTACT YOU DURING SERVICE

If our ministry workers need to contact you during the worship service, your child’s assigned number will appear on the main screen.

BATHROOM AND DIAPERING POLICY

Only adult females with a cleared background check may assist the children with their bathroom needs. Kid friendly bathrooms are available inside the Rock Point Kids area and are strictly for their use.

CRY POLICY

Our team will do everything possible to ease your child’s fears. However, if a child cries for 15 minutes without showing signs of becoming more comfortable, we will page you. We want this to be a pleasurable experience for your child and the other children in our classrooms.

Bio

Steve is an Arizona native married to a California girl. He and his wife, Amy, have been married since 2007, and have two daughters, Elona and Maisey. He loves to travel and has been to 11 different countries. He’s a big time Suns fan, loves coffee, dogs, and playing games.

If you could have any super power what would it be? Why?

If I had a super power, it would be to jump, dunk, and shoot in basketball as if I was in NBA Jam. It would help in pickup hoops games, and in throwing things in garbage cans.

If you walk into a coffee shop what do you usually order?

I love going to new coffee shops… well, old coffee shops are great too. I love coffee shops! My typical order is a black cold brew, or an americano if I want a hot drink.

CHILD DEDICATION

As believers, we are called to recognize that children belong first and foremost to God. God, in his goodness, gives children as gifts to parents. As parents, we have the awesome responsibility and wonderful privilege of caring for and enjoying the gift. This is noted in Psalm 127:3 where it states that, “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.”

Because children belong to God and are given by grace as gifts to parents, it is only proper and appropriate that children be dedicated back to God.

The Parent | Child Dedication Ceremony is a public commitment you make before God, your church, and your family. The dedication service provides you an opportunity to express publicly your desire raise your child to love God and to Know Jesus Personally.

During the ceremony, you’ll be presenting your child before God and ask for His blessing, wisdom and grace in carrying out this incredible responsibility.

ENCOURAGE OUR VOLUNTEER TEAM

Please keep in mind that our classrooms are staffed with volunteers who minister to the children each week. Please thank them for their time.

JOIN OUR VOLUNTEER TEAM

We want to reach all children for Jesus, but we need to maintain the proper volunteer/child ratio in each of our classrooms. We have many volunteer opportunities that utilize a variety of skills, including leading a class, classroom assistant, on-stage presenter, worship leader, and classroom prep.

PARTNERING WITH PARENTS

Our Kids ministry serves as an entry point for you to embark on a partnership with the church with the aim of seeing your child grow in vibrant faith in the years to come. We want to equip you with the tools you need to be the primary faith influencer in your family. As a parent, you will ultimately have a far greater influence on your children than any church leader and so our primary role is to empower and encourage you.

WHAT SHOULD KIDS WEAR?

Play clothes are always welcome! Rock Point Kids is a fun, active environment. Your kids will be playing, singing, and dancing as they learn about Jesus in small groups and large groups.
