Back-to-school season means new shoes, clothes, supplies, and a fresh start! For many families, the financial pressure outweighs the joy. Help us alleviate some of this burden by joining us in the Backpack Impact Initiative this summer at Rock Point. In partnership with Purpose Movement, Rock Point Outreach will be collecting school supplies and backpacks, from June 18 through July 10 during the weekend services. Volunteers are needed. Please sign up by selecting the button at the bottom of this page.
In addition, resources will be collected via The Panhandle Project to raise funds for the Back to School to Remember Shopping event being held in July. This event will provide an opportunity for over 200 foster kids in local group homes to partner with a volunteer and shop for new shoes and clothes in preparation for the new school year. Volunteers will gather at 8:30am for instructions before pairing with families and heading out to shop! Sign-up for personal shoppers will be available at The Panhandle event on Saturday, June 18.
This year distribution of supplies will take place in two phases. The Back-To-School Community Event will be held on Monday, July 11, 5:00pm - 8:00pm on the Rock Point Church campus. We will be distributing backpacks and supplies in addition to offering free haircuts, dinner, and a fun night for our Backpack Impact families. Secondly, we are partnering with local school districts and community resource groups who work more closely with at-risk youth and families in crisis helping us to reach our goal of giving the supplies to those who need them most!
Following are the specific supplies that can be included in backpacks:
JUNE 18/19, JUNE 25/26, JULY 2/3, JULY 9/10
DONATIONS CAN BE DROPPED OFF DURING WEEKEND SERVICES AT THE OUTREACH BOOTH ON THE PATIO.

Rock Point Church believes that our primary outreach should be to our local community. God chose to locate Rock Point here, in this specific area, and there are multitudes of hurting people right in our own backyard who desperately need to know their Savior.
Although we mainly focus on local outreach, we also realize there are hurting people throughout the world. Therefore, our Outreach team is also deeply committed to build purposeful relationships with leaders in the global communities where God has specifically called us to serve. These relationships are designed to first address the spiritual needs, and then the physical needs, of those individuals who are eager to share Christ within their communities.
As well as having multiple local outreach partners Rock Point is also deeply committed to build purposeful relationships with leaders in the global communities where God has specifically called us to serve! These relationships are designed to first address the spiritual needs, and then the physical needs, of those individuals who are eager to share Christ within their communities.
Throughout the year, Rock Point Outreach offers many opportunities to serve our community through food and backpack drives, free medical and car care clinics, packing food for children in need, and more.
