PURPOSE
The Rock Point Internship Program is meant to complement a college student’s (undergraduate, or
graduate) class experience with skill development, professional coaching, discussion-based training,
and hands-on experience to develop a holistic church ministry perspective and prepare him/her for a
successful, long term, ministry career.
WHO WE ARE
Rock Point Church, a 3000+ congregation, was named by Outreach magazine as the 15th fastest growing
church in the U.S. It is located in the southeast part of the Phoenix metro area and known for great
music, authentic teaching, dedicated youth and kids programs. It’s a mix of ages and ethnicities at
different places on their spiritual journey, a community of faith committed to pointing people to
Jesus by loving people like Jesus.

leadership development and ministry training.
OFFICE TASKS
Office tasks are weekly responsibilities designed to show interns what day-to-day ministry looks
like in that department.
PROGRAM ROLES
Every ministry has a “game day" that interns will help plan and execute (i.e weekend services,
middle school service, etc).
MILESTONES
Milestones are department-defined, development-focused semester achievements (i.e. projects,
assignments, etc.) with due dates.
BOOK REVIEWS
Each semester interns read two books and write a one-page book review on both books.
ONE-ON-ONE COACHING
One-on-ones are an opportunity for each staff coach to speak into the life of the intern.
SPIRITUAL MENTORS
Interns meet with spiritual mentors twice a semester for personal, spiritual guidance and growth.
Rock Point Kids exists to point Kids to Jesus by loving them like Jesus and to develop fearless Jesus followers! We want kids to know who Jesus is and grow in their friendships. We strive to engage Rock Point Kids through age-specific weekend programming and a small group discipleship model. In the Rock Point Kids Internship, you will work alongside our dynamic and incredible volunteers to develop safe, exciting, and caring atmospheres where kids learn to love the church in a way that will last their lifetime.
Middle School (Grades 6-8) YTH is all about Jesus and community. Every Wednesday we love to have fun whether this is through hanging out or our incredible games in service. We have dynamic worship and great communicators who help point YTH to Jesus and understand what the Bible says. As a middle school intern, you will come alongside our great Middle School team to see the inner workings of the ministry and learn how to do this ministry.
High School (Grades 9-12) YTH is all about Jesus and community. On Sunday night we welcome hundreds of high school YTH to come and worship Jesus as a community. As a High School intern, you will see how we operate and manage this ministry. You will be a part of planning and executing events, services, and more. We also have a great partnership with Casteel High School, and you will be able to experience that relationship as well.
In the Rock Point Young Adults Internship, you will work alongside our dynamic staff and incredible leaders to develop an authentic, real, and transparent culture and home for our young adults. Through this experience, you will be challenged and encouraged to grow in ways you have yet to experience. Thursday is church, but probably not what you think.
Regardless of your current stage of life, biblical knowledge, or church experience, our Adult Ministries are designed to help adults find connection and purpose in their relationship with Jesus. An intern with Adults will see the inner working of groups, classes, recovery, and care ministry at Rock Point.
Our purpose is to point people to Jesus by loving them like Jesus. How do we do that? We strive to light the path by providing clarity to everything we produce and point back to Jesus. We use our creativity and the tools God has given us to make sure the different ministries’ messages are heard. As a Communications intern, you will see how we do that on a practical level through video, photos, social media, website, and more!
Rock Point Worship exists to serve the church by loving God and people through faithful commitment and undistracting excellence. In your worship internship, you will grow your knowledge of God and what it means to worship Him and also what it looks like to practically serve the church from a worship context.
Our production ministry at Rock Point helps deliver an excellent, distraction-free service environment. If you’re creative, intuitive, hard-working, and have a passion for visual excellence, this is the right ministry for you.
