PURPOSE:
The Rock Point Internship Program is meant to complement a college student’s (undergraduate, or graduate) class experience with skill development, professional coaching, discussion-based training, and hands-on experience to develop a holistic church ministry perspective and prepare him/her for a successful, long term, ministry career.

Rock Point Church, a 3000+ congregation, was named by Outreach magazine as the 15th fastest growing church in the U.S. It is located in the southeast part of the Phoenix metro area and known for great music, authentic teaching, dedicated youth and kids programs. It’s a mix of ages and ethnicities at different places on their spiritual journey, a community of faith committed to pointing people to Jesus by loving people like Jesus.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We are currently accepting applications for this compensated Ministry Internship. We are looking for men and woman who are fun, outgoing, love Jesus, love people, have a passion to help others find God and want to be a part of our dynamic and growing ministry!. (See “application requirements” below.)
To develop a holistic perspective on church ministry, 10+ Rock Point department heads will be joining us throughout the internship for discussion-based training on their role in the church.
To develop leadership, ministry and personal skills, 10+ different skill concepts will be identified, trained and practiced, utilizing team experience and discussion, coach training, and occasional guest lecturers.
Interns will directly work with and be coached by their ministry track department head. Coaching will include: weekly planning meetings, hip-to-hip weekend ministry, and monthly one on ones.
Program Begins: Late Jan and Late Aug
Spring Break: 2 weeks in March
Summer Break: End of May to Beginning of August
Thanksgiving Break: 1 week in November
Winter Break: Mid-Dec to Late Jan
Program Completion: Dec or May depending on start

4 hours in planning/training meetings
8 hours of office time

$2500 Scholarship. ($1250 paid out to your college prior to each semester)

IDEAL CANDIDATES An ideal candidate would be a man or woman who feels that God is leading them into full time ministry and is pursuing a ministry degree major at a Christian college. This person would also have prior ministry experience in their desired track. We highly value individuals who are self-starters, quick learners, love a challenge, have a heart to serve, a positive attitude, flexibility, a sense of humor and an ability to work within a team environment.
A growing follower of Jesus for at least two years
High School graduate
At least one-year experience volunteering in ministry
A team player who likes fun and possesses a genuine love for people
Must be able to provide own laptop
Willingness to adhere to Rock Point staff guidelines, values and expectations
